Services for Velma E. McMorris, 57, of Doloroso, MS will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:30pm from Free Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Doloroso. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Rev. George Norflin officiating.

Miss McMorris, daughter of Willie and Ardenia Webb McMorris was born in Natchez, MS and died at her residence.

She was a prison guard for Angola State Prison.

Survivors are her father; one son, Jonathan McMorris; sister, Sharon McMorris all of Doloroso; one brother, Ronnie Galmore of Chicago, IL; sister, Shara Galmore of St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren, Taylor and Jakerriya Harris; Jonathan McMorris, Jr. all of Doloroso; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother.
