Funeral services for Velma L. Meredith, 83, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00am from the Bibleway Church in Natchez, MS under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the St. Mark Cemetery in Wildsville, LA with Pastor Milton Ceasor officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Meredith, daughter of Johnny Beard and Rachel Collins Brown was born in Wildsville, LA and died at her daughter's residence in Monore, LA. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a retired CNA for Merit Health Natchez.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Meredith of Ferriday; two brothers, Clyde Beard of Jonesville, LA and Fritz Beard of Natchez, MS; one sister, Myrtle Bossier of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Mayberry and her husband, Randy of Monroe, LA; Larry Collins and his wife, Venora; Edward Joel Harris, III and his wife, Ariana all of Ferriday. Also fourteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Meredith is preceded in death by her daughter, Veronica Jean Harris and her parents.
