Funeral services for Verna Ellis, 56, of St. Joseph, LA, who passed on Aug. 26, 2026, at Madison Parish Hospital, Tallulah, LA, will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday, LA with Prophet Calvin Blake.

Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery, Vidalia, LA, services have been entrusted to Concordia Funeral Home.

Viewing be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Barnes; one brother, Darrin Barnes; one sister, Sarah Turner.

Verna leaves to cherish her loving memories to her two sons, Donald Barnes, Baton Rouge, LA, Clarence Ellis; two daughters, Jayrisha Clark, her husband, Thomas, Jr., Clavira Ellis, all of St. Joseph, LA; two sisters, Lori Johnson, Gloria Minor, her husband Kelsey, both of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren; one uncle, Calvin Barnes, St. Joseph, LA; a number of other relatives and friends.
