Funeral services for Wilford Roy Mays, Jr., 32, of Ferriday, LA will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:30am from Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Pastor Danny Lewis will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Mays, son of Wilford, Sr and Miranda Dunbar Mays, was born in Natchez, MS and died at the Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. Captain Mays was a correctional  officer for the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility in Ferriday.

He is survived by his parents, Wilford and Miranda D. Mays, Sr. of Ferriday; his siblings, Pierre Mays, Tyron Dunbar and Sandra D. Haney. Also a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
