Funeral services for Willie James Watkins, Sr., 87, of Ferriday, LA will be held April 4, 2015 at 12:00 noon from St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, LA. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Bishop Robert Cade officiating.

Mr. Watkins, son of Howard and Alice Turner Watkins was born in Frogmore and died at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. He as a retired custodian for Concordia Parish School Board; a deacon at St. James Baptist and overseer of the church cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Kendrell Watkins; Debra Bass and he husband, Donald; Frankie Powell and Henrietta Glasper all of Ferriday; Thaddeus Hamilton and his wife, Karen of Dumas, AR; Alican Hamilton of Monroe, LA; twenty six grandchildren and numerous grat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Also preceding him in death are his parent; his wife, Lavator Watkins; one son, Willie "June" Watkins, Jr.; three brothers and three sisters.
